How to use

The durable cast iron construction allows this teapot to be heated on various sources, including induction cookers, electric burners, charcoal, and gas stoves. (Not suitable for microwave use.)

Use & preservation

1. For the initial use, place 5-10 grams of tea into the teapot, bring to a boil, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. Discard the water and repeat this process 2-3 times. This creates a protective tannin film on the interior, a natural reaction between the tea and iron that helps prevent rust and removes any new-product odor.

2. To avoid overflow while boiling, fill the teapot to a maximum of 70% capacity.

3. After each use, keep the interior dry by leaving the lid off to allow moisture to evaporate, then wipe with a soft cloth.

4. Avoid washing or scrubbing the teapot with sponges, detergents, or brushes. To maintain its natural luster, polish the surface gently with a soft cloth lightly soaked in tea.

Do cast iron teapots rust?

If not properly dried after each use, cast iron teapots can develop rust over time. However, a small amount of rust is harmless and can be cleaned off so you can continue to use the teapot.

How can I remove rust?

If your teapot has developed rust, simply apply a bit of lemon juice or vinegar to the rusted area, then gently wipe with a soft cloth. This can help prevent further rusting and maintain the teapot's quality.

Is the enamel interior safe?

Yes, enamel is a safe and durable material with excellent heat resistance. However, it can chip if exposed to very high temperatures for long periods. To protect the enamel, always ensure there’s water inside the teapot before heating.

What heat sources can I use with the teapot?

This teapot is compatible with various heat sources, including induction cookers, electric ceramic stoves, natural gas, firewood, and candles. However, it should not be used in the microwave.

This kettle is so beautiful and perfect for our needs. We absolutely love and use it every day. The water heats up so fast and I love the way it looks on my stovetop. One caution, the steam is extremely hot when pouring so I always use a short oven mitt.
